The Grant Contract signature ceremony for the project entitled “The Project for Demining Operations in Northern Chad” was held at the Embassy of Japan in Chad with Residence in Yaounde on 23rd March 2012, in the presence of Mr Kazuhiko FUJITA, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy. Within the framework of this project, MAG International received a grant of EUR 324,800 to purchase a demining machine which will enhance the effectiveness of demining operations that were formerly done manually. The implementation of this project shall enable the inhabitants of Borkou, Ennedi and Tibesti regions of northern Chad to carry out their socioeconomic activities in safety and stability.

Japan recognized Chad on 11 August 1960, and the Ambassador of Japan in Cameroon got accredited to the Government of the Republic of Chad since 1996.
