The Exchange of Notes for "Project for Rebuilding social facilities in the North and South-East Region which contributes to promoting community empowerment in the Central African Republic"
The Ambassador of Japan His Excellency Keiji YAMAMOTO and the Resident Representative of the United Nations Childrenfs Fund (UNICEF) Ms. Tanya Chapuisat signed Exchange of Notes for a sum of 5 billion 668 thousands FCFA in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic (CAR), for gProject for Rebuilding social facilities in the North and South-East Region which contributes to promoting community empowerment in the Central African Republic.h This project will be implemented by UNICEF, and its objective is to support the Northern and Southern regions of Central African Republic which are affected by conflicts, through the construction, repairing and providing equipments for classrooms in primary schools, health centers, and youth centers. This project will improve the educational environment for 20 000 children, increase access to potable water for more than 150 000 persons, and expand the reach of health services.

2.Bilateral Relations
Following the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan the Central African Republic on the 13th of August 1960, the Embassy of the Central African Republic was opened in Japan in June 1968 and the Japanese Embassy in Bangui in January 1974. The Embassy in Central African Republic was closed in 1992, and the Embassy of Japan in Cameroon covers the Central African Republic since 2005.Lire plus(en anglais)
