Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho:MEXT) Scholarship for 2015

Research Students

Information about the 2015 scholarships is included below for reference only.

 

MEXT (Monbukagakusho: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan) offers scholarships to Cameroonian nationals who wish to pursue Masters, Doctoral or post-doctoral research in Japanese graduate institutions.

 

Eligibility criteria

Applicant must

  • be a Cameroonian national, and born on or after April 2, 1980.
  • be a graduate from a Japanese university or have academic ability equal or superior to that of a Japanese university graduate.
  • have good result of the last university attended: Cumulative GPA is more than 2.7/4 (67.5%) or mention "Assez Bien".


     

    Length of Scholarships

  • Arrival in April 2015: Payable for 24 months from April 2015 through March 2017.
  • Arrival in October 2015: Payable for 18 months from October 2015 through March 2017.

    Prospective applicants should read the instructions very carefully and fill out the forms without leaving any question/information unanswered.
    Documents to be submitted are listed on the Application Guidelines.
    Cameroonian applicants are required to fill in MEXT 2015 Research students: Checklist for Cameroonian nationals form and paste it on the file cover/envelope.


    2015 Scholarships Schedule

    1. Deadline of applications: at 4pm of Friday 13 June 2014
    The forms and the documents may be hand delivered or posted but must be received by the Embassy of Japan before the deadline.
    The Embassy does not receive incomplete applications, applications sent by FAX or email.

    2. Result of documents screening : By Friday 4 July 2014

    Only the applicants who passed through the documents screening will be contacted.

    3. Written examinations and interview :any day in-between Tuesday 15 July and Friday 18 July 2014


    4. Primary screening decision notification : By the end of July 2014
    Candidates' documents will be sent from the Embassy to MEXT for a secondary screening.


    5. Candidate directly contacts his/her selected Japanese universities to obtain "Admission" : By Friday 29 August 2014


    6. Final results : Around January 2015


    7. Departure to Japan from Cameroon : April or September/October 2015
