    • Handover Ceremony for Emergency Assistance to the Republic of Cameroon in response to the flood disaster

      The official handover ceremony for the Emergency Assistance was held on 26 November 2013 at the office of the Governor of the Far North region in Maroua, in the presence of the Governor of Far North region, Counsellor of Embassy of Japan, Kazuhiko FUJITA and Resident Representative of JICA, Yujiro YABE. This emergency assistance composed of 100 tents, 500 mosquito nets and 250 hygiene kits will be distributed to the victims who have suffered from the flood which occurred in the Far North region in late September in 2013.

    • Handover Ceremony for “Cameroon lifesaving emergency Nutrition response for children affected by Shale humanitarian crisis and building back schools devastated by floods in Far North and North Regions”

           The official handover ceremony for “Cameroon lifesaving emergency Nutrition response for children affected by Sahel humanitarian crisis and building back schools devastated by floods in Far-North and North Regions” was held on 31 October 2013 at the Ministry of Public Health in Yaoundé, in the presence of the Minister of Public Health, S.E.Mr. André MAMA FOUDA, the Ambassador of Japan, Tsutomu ARAI and the Representative a.i. of UNICEF, Mr. Daouda GUINDO.
           This project supports education, water-hygiene, and nutrition-health sectors through the construction of class rooms, latrines and wells and the supply of necessary materials in Far-North and North regions in collaboration with UNICEF. At the ceremony, cars, nutrition food and educational materials were displayed and the keys of cars were symbolically handed over to the Minister of Public Health and the representatives of the Ministry of Basic Education and the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy.

    • Visit of the Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Toshiko Abe Cameroon

           From the 13th to 15th August 2013, the Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Tohiko Abe visited Cameroon for discussions with regards to the follow-up of TICAD V (The Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development).

           On August 14, she was granted audience by several top Government officials namely; the Prime Minister of Cameroon Philemon Yang, Vice Prime Minister, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies Amadou Ali, the Secretary General at the Presidency Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo, the Minister of Communication Issa Bakary Tchiroma and executives of international organizations. They talked about the cooperation ties that exist between the two countries at the international level and the reinforcement of their excellent relationship.

           On August 15, she proceeded with the inspection of some sites constructed within the framework of Japanese ODA, such as Essos and Mfandena 2 primary schools, and the Ahmadou Ahidjo Omnisports Stadium. At the end of the day, she visited with the Minister of Agriculture Lazare Essimi Menye the site of PRODERIP where research is being conducted in order to increase the productivity of rice production in Cameroon.

    • Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho:MEXT) Scholarship for 2014 for Cameroonian nationals


      Three categories of scholarships are offered by the Japanese Government for Cameroonian nationals: Research Students, Undergraduate Students or College of Technology Students.       This Award was established in May 2007 upon the initiative of then-Minister for Foreign Affairs with the aim of awarding MANGA creators who contribute to the spread of MANGA culture overseas.
