Signing ceremony of the partnership agreement with WFP for the Food Assistance towards the Republic of Chad

On 17th December 2024, Mr. AOKI Shun, Chargé d’Affaires ad intérim of the Embassy of Japan to the Republic of Chad signed the Exchange of Note for the Food Assistance Grant Project (FY2024) for Chad.
This project, providing food assistance worth 200 million yen (1.4 million USD) in the form of school meal will contribute to the improvement of food security of children as well as school retention and access to basic education.
Japan will continue to provide assistance to Chad, where 20% of the population is facing a serious food crisis due to rising food prices caused by the influx of large numbers of Sudanese refugees.
