On November 18, 2025, H.E.M MINAMI Kentaro , signed the Exchange of Note for the Food Assistance Grant Project (FY2025) for Chad.
This project, providing food assistance worth 200 million yen (1.4 million USD) will contribute to the improvement of food security of vulnerable people.
Japan has been supporting Chad, which is facing a food crisis due to a combination of factors including crop failures caused by climate-related disasters, rising prices, and food shortage.
