The hand-over ceremony for the 5th Project for Construction of Primary Schools in Japanese fiscal year 2011

The hand-over ceremony for the 5th Project for Construction of Primary Schools was held in Bali which is near Bamenda in the Northwest Region, in the presence of the Minister of Basic Education, Mrs. Youssouf née Adidja Alim, the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Tsutomu ARAI and the Resident Representative of JICA, Mr. Shinji UMEMOTO. The project was for construction of 29 Primary schools and 202 class rooms in the Northwest region, including Government School Bali where the ceremony was held. During the ceremony, the Ambassador gave the symbolic key to the Minister.

The inauguration ceremony for the project in Grassroots Human Security Grant Scheme for Japanese fiscal year 2011

The inauguration ceremony of “the Project for Rehabilitation, Extension and Improvement of the Tingoh Health Center” took place in Bafut Subdivision, Northwest Region, in the presence of Mr. Tsutomu ARAI, Ambassador of Japan, Mrs. Tanda Mariana, the Program Coordinator of Mount Zion Foundation (NGO), the Divisional Officer of Bafut and the Mayor of the Bafut Council. In 2011, Mount Zion Foundation received a grant within the framework of assistance for Grassroots Human Security Grant projects of the Embassy of Japan. This enabled the NGO to rehabilitate a dilapidated building, to construct a five-wards building and to purchase laboratory equipment for the Tingoh Health Center.

The Eighth International MANGA Award

This Award was established in May 2007 upon the initiative of then-Minister for Foreign Affairs with the aim of awarding MANGA creators who contribute to the spread of MANGA culture overseas. Broadcast of the Japanese series "Asuka High School March!" over the CRTV

9 episodes of the French version of the "Asuko March" will be broadcasted over the CRTV in February with the cooperation of the Japan Foundation according to the following schedule:

Episode 1 : 6th Feb. at 1pm Episode 2: 7th Feb. at 2pm
Episode 3 : 13th Feb. at 1pm Episode 4: 14th Feb. at 2pm
Episode 5 : 20th Feb. at 1pm Episode 6: 21st Feb. at 2pm
Episode 7 : 27th Feb. at 1pm Episode 8: 28th Feb. at 2pm
Episode 9 : 6th Mar. at 1pm

This drama comprises 9 episodes of about 50 minutes each. The heroine is Nao, a high school student, who failed the entrance exams into the Girls High School of her choice and is now getting used to her new school life in a Technical High School. The story line lies on the daily life of the heroine and that of her classmates.
