Debriefing session on labor market survey in the North-West and South-West regions funded by Japan
2022/5/31
On May 31, 2022, the report "Labour Market Survey in the North-West and South-West Regions", funded by the Japanese government and prepared by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), was presented in Yaoundé in the presence of the Minister Delegate for Economy, Planning and Regional Development, H.E.M. TASONG, Ambassador TAKAOKA and Mr. DIOP, Chief of Mission of the IOM office in Cameroon.
The North-West and South-West regions have hosted a large number of internally displaced persons and returnees, and their access to stable jobs is a challenge.
In order to clarify the labour market environment, including the situation of job search and recruitment in the two regions, and to provide references for the future support of humanitarian, development and peace operations in the two regions, this survey was conducted as part of the Japan-funded IOM project "Strengthening Community Resilience and Recovery in Cameroon for the Humanitarian Development Peace Nexus".
We hope that the results of this survey will be useful to all those working in the North West and South West regions and that they will contribute to the recovery of the two regions.
The Ambassador's speech at the debriefing session can be viewed here, and the survey report can be found here.
