Visit to the construction site of the Project for Improvement in Fish Landing Facility and Fish Market of Youpwe in Douala City

I thank HE Dr, Taiga, Minister of Livestock, Fishery and Animal Industries, for joining me to observe the progress of the Fish Market Construction Project in Youpwe, Douala. To be completed by next January, this will greatly enhance Cameroonian fish production, an important source of protein when the continent faces serious food shortage. This 6.6 billion XFA project will also upgrade the sewage system in the nearby area. I also appreciate Mr. Aboubakary Haman Tchiouto, Secretary General of the Littoral region Governor’s office, Mr. Mbassa Ndine Roger, Mayor of the Douala City Council, and the friendly local representatives for their support and enthusiastic welcome.
