Reception on the occasion of the 63rd Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan

On 22 February 2023, a reception to celebrate the Emperor of Japan’s Birthday was held at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel.
More than 250 guests attended the reception including eight government cabinet-level officials, the largest number ever recorded in this event; Mr. Samuel MVONDO AYOLO, Minister, Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, representing the Presidency of the Republic, H.E. Felix MBAYU, Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations, representing the Government of Cameroon, as well as Mr. BALUNGELI EBUNE Confiance, Director of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister, H.E. Alamine OUSMANE MEY, Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, H.E. Dr. TAÏGA, Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, H.E. ISSA TCHIROMA Bakary, Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, H.E. Grégoire OWONA, Minister of Labour and Social Security, and H.E. Jean de Dieu MOMO, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals.
In his speech, Ambassador TAKAOKA, presented and commended the achievements of about sixty Cameroonian nationals, international organizations, as well as JICA, who have all contributed to the strengthening of relations between Japan and Cameroon over the past year.
This year, among the Japan-related companies and organizations present in Cameroon, CAMI Toyota, Carrefour, JICA, MAKO INDUSTRIES, TMT and Yamaha Motor exhibited their products and activities.
During the reception, sushi prepared with rice cultivated in NDOP, in the North West region, with the cooperation of JICA and sold under the brand name "Diamond Rice", were highly appreciated together with Japanese sake.
