Inauguration ceremony for the local grassroot project contributing to human security (FY2023)

On November 19, 2024, Ms. SUGIMOTO Airi, the Cooperation Attaché of the Embassy of Japan attended the inauguration ceremony of the " Project for the construction of classrooms and latrines at the bilingual Catholic primary school Sainte Marie de Bankim " funded by the Japanese Embassy, in the presence of Mr. OYONO Adams representing the Minister of Basic Education. Mgr Emmanuel ABBO, Bishop of the Diocese and President of CODAS/Caritas (beneficiary organization), Mr. ONDOBO Théodore, Subdivisional officer of Bankim, Mr. MVEING Angelbert, Mayor of Bankim were also present, expressing their gratitude in their speech towards Japan’s support for the education sector in Cameroon.
Six classrooms and 3 latrines were constructed to improve the learning environment and well-being of children, responding to the increasing needs of English-speaking children displaced by the Anglophone crisis.
