Project for the Reconstruction of the South-West Region through Rehabilitation of Basic Social Services Infrastructure was signed.
On 5 December, 2025, H.E.Mr. MINAMI Kentaro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Cameroon signed the Exchange of Note for the Project for the Reconstruction of the South-West Region through Rehabilitation of Basic Social Services Infrastructure.
On the 11th, a ceremony was held to celebrate the launch of the project, presided over by H.E.M Ousman Mey, Minister of Economy, Planning, and Regional Development.
This project (valued at 416 million yen), based on a request from the Government of Cameroon, aims to promote the medium- to long-term socio-economic stabilization of the Southwest Region, and thereby contribute to human security in the country. This will be achieved through the renovation of health centers and water supply stations destroyed by conflict, and the restoration of educational facilities within the region.
